家長，您好： 孩子目前的成績是否好？ 如果要選擇Maranatha HS , 學校明確指出：Maranatha international student admissions is highly selective based on students’ academic records, English proficiency, and willingness to participate in the wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular offerings. 對于標化的要求則是這樣的： ISEE TEST: If you are applying for Grade 9 and are currently studying in the United States, you are required to take the ISEE entrance exam. No other testing is required. 因此，如果學生已經在美國學習了，那么不需要托福，但是一定要 ISEE，今早幫您給學校打了電話，Admission 的人未接，已留言，建議您郵件盡快和學校確認。 而Santa Margarita 官網上的要求是：TOEFL English Proficiency Test (minimum score of 65) - no other English proficiency tests are accepted. Please use our school code of 0945 to submit your TOEFL scores directly to our school. 因此，從目前情況看，Santa margarita 門檻不高，希望很大。

這位家長好： 正如下面幾位老師所說的那樣，是否可以豁免托福是由學校決定的。 一般來說，孩子需要在美國有一段時間的學習經歷才能豁免托福成績，香港的國際學校不一定可以。 孩子是否有考SSAT呢？Santa Margarita 是有機會錄取的，Immaculate Heart Middle School & High School 和The Athenian School 的錄取難度則比較高。

申請有難度，我之前的學生申上Webb的9年級需要托福98+，SSAT有93%。建議再刷下標化，同時文書好好寫，能加分不少。

我在加州天主教高中教過三年。以我的了解，這三所天主教學校都還可以。按加州110所天主教高中的niche排名：chaminade college preparatory（21）；santa magarita catholic high school （22）；san domenico（14）。但niche排名僅是參考。 個人感覺，santa magarita catholic high school要更好一些，主要是它的選擇多，AP或IB都有，畢業生出路也不錯，而且留學生也更難申請一些。如果是低年級來美國讀高中，學IB申請大學機會也更好一些。
