In 1782, the Dummer school was officially incorporated as the Dummer Academy, whose graduates in this era comprised approximately 25% of the undergraduate student body at Harvard.

開學(xué)一周了寫點(diǎn)感受：
學(xué)哥學(xué)姐都是大神，超nice
govs食堂絕對一流，也許寄宿中學(xué)中最好
因?yàn)楦鞣N原因聚集了曾在andover，choate,exter 等學(xué)校教書的很多好老師,老師好到爆。學(xué)術(shù)超讚
在學(xué)校很有幸福感，學(xué)校好美，老師，校長一家和學(xué)生都很好
cross country跑道好美
同學(xué)腳出了一點(diǎn)小問題，health center老師就特別認(rèn)真，給了一堆藥。感覺這方面做得很好。

但是；
學(xué)校本地學(xué)生較多，大多數(shù)都是麻州和new hamshire 的學(xué)生。個人認(rèn)為這個很不科學(xué)，
有時候有點(diǎn)覺得學(xué)校的一些學(xué)生配不上這樣好的學(xué)校（是因?yàn)槲易约褐饔^原因）

1. 有傳統(tǒng)和底蘊(yùn)的學(xué)校怎么都不會差：作為全美持續(xù)運(yùn)營時間最久的私立寄宿中學(xué)，The Governor’s有著光輝的歷史，曾經(jīng)一度包攬哈佛四分之一的生源，夢想上藤校的家庭把他作為教育首選；20世紀(jì)初Andover等新秀崛起后江湖地位有所動搖，但是經(jīng)過Dr. Charles Ingham校長多年的努力后又實(shí)現(xiàn)了中興，三分之一畢業(yè)生進(jìn)藤校，培養(yǎng)出了無數(shù)教育家，學(xué)者和政治家。目前學(xué)校處于平穩(wěn)發(fā)展中，雖今非昔比，但榮光依舊。校友中名人無數(shù)，包括Andover創(chuàng)始人和第一任校長還有哈佛兩任校長。

2. 集正直、領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力和普世教育情懷為一身的州長：學(xué)校是大家遵循William Dummer州長遺囑建立的。要想了解州長中學(xué)就一定先了解這位州長：William出身于一個顯赫的家族，在麻州還處于殖民時期時擔(dān)任副州長和代州長多年。整個家庭都熱衷教育，弟弟是耶魯大學(xué)前身College of New Haven的主要捐助人，并曾經(jīng)任職校長；他本人是哈佛的早期管理者。William還是一位強(qiáng)有力的領(lǐng)袖，多次擊退法國和印第安人的襲擊（ Dummer's War），引領(lǐng)麻州度過艱難時期。我想，學(xué)校舍己為人的校訓(xùn)，扎實(shí)穩(wěn)健的校風(fēng)和這位州長不無關(guān)系。

3. 體育和表演藝術(shù)項(xiàng)目突出：學(xué)校曲棍球足球籃球等項(xiàng)目經(jīng)常獲得ISL冠軍，擁有多支地區(qū)性體育強(qiáng)隊；藝術(shù)方面，表演藝術(shù)尤為突出，擁有專門的表演藝術(shù)中心，內(nèi)設(shè)劇場，在麻州私立中學(xué)藝術(shù)比賽中獲獎數(shù)量最多。

4. 維持較低的國際生比例：負(fù)責(zé)國際招生的Chris強(qiáng)調(diào)學(xué)校在接下來的招生工作中會刻意維持較低的國際生比例。近年來每年錄取2個中國學(xué)生人數(shù)，競爭十分激烈，難度大為提升。

Governor是全美歷史最悠久的寄宿高中之一, 位于Boston的Andover市附近,和和著名的Philips Academy Andover在一個地方，但在學(xué)術(shù)上顯得比較遜色，近幾年的大學(xué)走向并不亮眼。離Atlantic Ocean僅有4英里。88%老師在校園內(nèi)居住，安全指數(shù)極高。

Governor最最需要提到的就是她出色的藝術(shù)課程了。Governor的學(xué)生在藝術(shù)的各個領(lǐng)域都很活躍。學(xué)校的舞蹈，戲劇，繪畫幾乎每年都要為Governor贏得許多全國性的大獎。學(xué)校有專門的visual and performing arts, as well as state-of-the-art library, computer centers, labs, student center and dining hall。其次，學(xué)校在可持續(xù)發(fā)展，綠色環(huán)保領(lǐng)域有著自己的建樹，09年在GREEN CUP的比賽中獲得了第一名。
申請方面，由于地處熱門地區(qū)，托福和SSAT要求的還是很高的。建議托福95 嘗試申請。
