為什么西北會放棄通用文書，取而代之自己設計了一篇300字的文書，附加6選1的小文書呢？

疫情后時代，Test optional政策出爐，ChatGPT等AI軟件橫空出世，平權運動導致多元化的喪失……這些發展在便利學生和學校申請工作的同時，也磨平了每個申請者的獨特性，讓他們成為了流水線上的一個標準化“產品”。所以每個學校都在研究到底什么樣的學生更適合自己，能為學校社區做出貢獻。獨立文書題目的設計，不乏為挑選合適學生的一種方式。

正如西北的新文書政策——之所以西北大學提出這個問題，主要還是因為學校希望招收真正愿意入讀西北的學生。通過學生針對這篇文書的回答，可以更容易地看到學生入讀西北大學的決心，看出學生和學校的匹配度。通用的申請文書并不是單獨針對西北大學；學校希望這短短300字的文書，每一個字都應該專門為西北大學量身定制。

麗格建議申請者在進行文書前要仔細閱讀題目，不要走捷徑，以為單純換一下學校名字，就可以通用到所有的學校。招生官其實都是“看破不說破”罷了。學生一定要對學校進行充分的了解，一定要尋找到自己與大學的契合的地方，進行文書的撰寫。如果學生單純優秀一定不會錄的差，但是不懂的尋找與自己匹配的學校，一定沒辦法錄到最好。
